Flow sensors, a type of process sensor, are often also referred to as flow monitors or flow switches. The sensors are based on the calorimetric (thermal dispersion) principle without any moving parts, which makes these flow sensors particularly resistant to dirt and enables them to work without any wear and tear. The different measurement principles ensure that both liquids and gases are monitored.
