Operating principle of flow sensors
Flow sensors, a type of process sensor, are often also referred to as flow monitors or flow switches. The sensors are based on the calorimetric (thermal dispersion) principle without any moving parts, which makes these flow sensors particularly resistant to dirt and enables them to work without any wear and tear. The different measurement principles ensure that both liquids and gases are monitored.
Consequently there are numerous applications for flow sensors, such as:
- Flow monitoring, e.g. flow presence in cooling circuits on machine tools
- Run dry protection, e.g. for pumps in compressors and heat exchangers
- Flow monitoring in ventilation systems and/or suction operations
Order flow sensors online from Automation24
Automation24 offers you exclusive digital flow sensors and airflow monitors at low prices. The preselection we have made for you concentrates on ifm efector, a strong manufacturer promising high quality and excellent performance.
The offered portfolio of flow sensors includes both units with modular probe connections, compatible with a variety of flow controllers, and all-in-one field mounting units. All field mounting units are constructed with robust stainless stell housings. The switch points are adjusted and set either via pushbutton, or via an evaluation unit, so that they can be easily adjusted, with switch point and flow indicated by LEDs directly on the unit. Mounting clamps allow variable installation depth of the airflow monitor in the pipe, and durable construction reliably ensures accurate operation even in both liquid and gas media.
At Automation24, we offer a wide range of flow sensors - simply use our online feature filter to discover the sensor meeting your technical requirements, offered at competitive prices.
