Reflectors for photoelectric sensors

Reflectors are used in various applications in industry, but are especially indispensable for the correct operation of photoelectric sensors in automation technology. Principally, these parts do not differ from light reflectors as they appear in everyday life, for example on bicycles. Light hitting the reflector surface is refracted so that it is reflected back in the direction from where it came - the effect is similar to that of a mirror, only much more precise.

Applications of reflectors

As already mentioned, in automation technology, reflectors are primarily required for photoelectric sensors. The reflection surface must reflect the light beam absolutely precisely to allow reliable function of the photoelectric sensor, which is key in production processes or conveyors that are controlled to the exact millimeter and second.

Reflectors are not only used with retro-reflective sensors, they are widely used in many industries, and can be found in almost any producing or processing company.
